Dave,

You are correct about the timing of the white and black Sarawak peppercorns. They discontinued the black about a year after they released the Telicherry Bold, yes they are Tellicherrries.

I'd love to find another source for the Sarawak.

Sigh, another thing for the wish list.

I love the Sarawak white, too.

Would I be a heretic if I admitted that I just buy the 3-peppercorn mix from San Francisco Spice Company?

A reliable source can be found at http://www.savoryspiceshop.com. They started here with one shop and now have francises in a few locations, but do sell via mail. They have been my spice store since they opened and their products are really very good. I did look on thier site for Sarawak pepperecorns and it appears that they have them available.

Ooh, I love Sarawak black peppercorns - they're my favorite. I was so sorry that Penzey's discontinued them. I've been searching ever since. I saw them on some site awhile ago, but they were ridiculously expensive.

I don't see the black ones - just the white.

My fault for not having read the entire thread.....yes, they just appear to have the white.

Dave,
Thanks for suggesting Kalustyan's. When my husband called from New York yesterday wanting to know if I "needed" anything....well, timing is everything. Seems Kalustyan's was close by his meeting venue.
