It seems like I'm getting Penzey's catalogs monthly now. Anyone else?

(sing it, you know you want to:

"Penzey's all the time,
Penzey's all the time,
Penzey's all the tie-ai-ai-me!" )

Yep, me too, just got one today. There's a coupon for 1/2 cup jar of Penzey's Cinnamon Sugar FREE, a $5.99 value according to the coupon. Expires April 1. Not sure that will get me to stop by but I guess I'll put it in my car's coupon folder in case I find myself in the neighborhood.

I have gotten two in the last month...three, if you include the one given to me with a gift card! Funny thing - the only time I got anything from there was with a gift card from LAST holiday season! I was looking through there, and I really didn't see anything I need. However, I did just receive an order from Kalustyan's, including those top rated peppercorns (plus some things Penzey's doesn't have), and those peppercorns really are good! I'm not tossing the last of the Penzey's telicherries, but these really are better.

Better than Penzey's Extra Special Bold? I have a bit of a black pepper fetish.

Are there any sources of black Sarawak peppercorns? These used to be my favorite.

Fuzzy, Actually the mashed potatoes is a wonderful dance step....

Actually, I prefer white pepper on mashed potatoes.

While I was not trying them next to each other, I would say they were, since I preferred Penzey's telicherries to the Extra Bold, and I did try them next to each other when the Bold came out.

One thing I have liked better since I first got it from Penzey's is their Sarawak white peppercorns. They seem to have a much cleaner flavor than any other white pepper I have tried, and I use these exclusively when those SE Asian dishes call for generous amounts of white pepper. And Tim, didn't they come out with those Sarawak Black at the same time? Did they just switch the name to Extra Special Bold?
