We left about 10:45 this morning to go on our road trip to the Dublin Store for meats and what ever looked good. We took the back roads, it was a pretty drive. We found the store and it was all, and more than I expected. Man was it busy. The meat counter was the busiest. And they have dozens of types of jerky. We bought BBQ Pork jerky.

I bought a loin of ribeye's at 4.99lb, some homemade brats, some homemade hotdogs, 2 thick cut pork chops, they called them cowboy chops. I also bought some ground beef and 3 types of cheese. One cheddar aged 5 years, a semi hard goat cheese and a big round slice of Co-jack.

A fun way to spend a few hours. :D

It was a nice day. We are lucky to have a couple little stores that raise their own pork and some of their beef. It really keeps the cost down. I'm not sure if these steaks are going to be able to top the ribeyes I get in Faulmouth (fall-mooth) at Ebels Store, they are outstanding.

I have taken Todd to Ebel's and he loves their smoked and fresh meats too. Ebel's also has a great Jowl bacon. The prices just can't be beat. I haven't bought a steak anywhere but Ebel's until yesterday in several years. These steaks aren't as marbled as I'm used to. I guess I'll find out tonight when they hit the grill.

You're making me homesick for Dietrich's in PA...not that it was anywhere near my home in NY, but I loved to stop there and load up when driving through PA.

Does anyone know if they still do mail order? I'm running low on leaf lard.

Hi, Amy. Their website doesn't say anything about it but you might try calling.
