Bumping this up because I am so excited I can't stand myself!!! The 2nd TJ's has opened in Manhattan and it's 2 blocks from my apt!!!!!!! :D

I'm supposed to go out with friends after work tonight but honestly, I'd rather go window shopping at TJ's

Had to share, and boast just a little ;) *

That is very exciting! The nearest TJ's to me is 90 miles away.

Envious here in Colorado; the nearest is in Santa Fe, New Mexico, a 5 hour drive. I want a TJ's very badly....

I'm making my pilgrimage tomorrow. It's 20km from my house (there are none in Canada  ). Can't wait to try some of these suggestions.

Some of my favorites:

- Almond Butter Cookies
- Butter Waffle Cookies (both of these are EXACTLY the same as Jules Destroooper cookies from Belgium, but at 1/3 the cost, well at least 1/3 the cost of what they are in Canada where they cost an arm and a leg). I'm quite sure JD manufactures them for TJ's.
- triple layer hummus
- pretzel slims
- kosher poultry
- chicken sausages, all of the flavors are good esp. portabello mushroom with fontina
- mandarin chicken -good for a quick meal
- pecan cilantro dip (Martha Stewart has a recipe similar to this dip in her Appetizers book and it is so good, although I had to doctor the recipe up a bit to get it to the TJ's version)

Me too. But even if Denver got one, it would be a six hour drive for me. Sigh...

Guess that is double sigh for me then. I have a Trader Joe's shopping bag and a German acquaintance who lived in the US for a long time saw it and let out a triple sigh.

It's been a while since we have been to TJ. I am trying to use up the food that I have - cooking from the freezer, ya know. But we do love the stores!

Martha:
I understand our new Republican Guv doesn't think the state should be in the booze business. Hope?

We can already buy beer and wine at the Wegmans near Harrisburg (but not at prices I'd care to pay) due to loopholes and a weird DLC initiative for standalone wine kiosks.

Edit: I just scrolled up and read Nancy's post. Is this an "eating my heart out" smiley? -->

The nearest one for me is Nancy's and I'm about 1000 kms from there. Maybe I'll get to it in June!
