The bacon explosion has occurred at my house and it's pretty wonderful. The only thing that makes it survivable is that you only eat a small slice at a time.

On a trip back from Portland, OR two weeks ago the fella sitting beside me and I were exchanging our culinary conquests that were experianced in the city...he raved about VooDoo Doughnuts bacon / maple donut. I instantly thought of Darcie and chuckled. I will be back there in a couple of weeks...I WILL get by there, and I will purchase, and raise high in a sybolic "toast" a bacon / maple doughnut to our Darcie prior to devouring it.

I'd recommend a dry Champagne . . .

I saw an ad in a magazine for envelopes that look like strips of bacon and the glue tastes like bacon. Bleh! Fitzie

Mmmmmm, bacon.
I don't really like sweet BBQ sauce, so I wonder if the Bacon Explosion would work with a tangy Carolina style sauce. Sounds like an experiment...
The bacon turtleburgers looked a little too turtle-like for me, but a maple bacon doughnut sounds like breakfast nirvana! If I get to Portland I am definitely heading for Voodoo doughnuts. I've read about them before.
Sorry I didn't catch this sooner, but I've been out of circulation for the past few days - stripping wallpaper, patching holes and cracks, and repainting the bathroom. 80 year old plaster is a bitch. Bacon is on the menu for breakfast tomorrow (bacon, egg and cheese on ciabatta roll). Mmmmm, bacon.
