Hi CI friends! I posted about my new blog on the CI bb but those boards are about as moribund as I've ever seen them. Sometimes I am the one and only registered user on them. I really don't know what's going on over there.

Anyway, I just launced a blog based on reviewing cookbooks by actually making the recipes. It came out of my own frustration in reading cookbook reviews where they talk about everything except what is, in my opinon, the most important feature of all: the recipes.

I've only completed one book review so far but now I'm working on Ad Hoc at Home and should get my first couple of recipe posts up shortly.

So I hope you'll take a look, subscribe if you find it interesting, "like" me on Facebook, give me some feedback and comments if you're so inclined.

Thanks in advance!!!

Great job Kate. I agree TOB is a bit dull these days and sometimes a bit bitchy.

I liked you on facebook, good luck with the blog!

Kate,

Glad to see you're doing the blog!

Is there any way you can make it more obvious, in each entry, which cookbook you're working from? I'd like to be able to skim your blog (or maybe hit an index) when I check out a new cookbook. Currently the name of the cookbook is buried deep in the text of each blog post.

I'm also amused and surprised that everyone on this BB seems to be on facebook other than me ...

ALL the cool kids are on facebook Josh.

I'm a big fan, I've reconnected with so many people and it is so easy to keep up with all my friends and family. It is also a time sucking, brain numbing trap that needs to be skirted around.

I got off of FB when I went to log in, and suddenly there was a pop-up, asking me if I wanted to connect with a whole bunch of companies I had discussed in my posts, e.g. Ancestry.com, Willie Nelson, etc. Gave me the creeps, so I got out.

Thanks for all the "likes" and encouragement!

You have hit the nail on the head, Fuzzy, and this is the biggest thing I have yet to resolve to my satisfaction. I do have the books listed under "categories" and when you click on those you get all the related recipe reviews. I didn't want to make the titles of each recipe review too long but maybe that's what I need to do, at least in the short term.

Thanks again!!!

I'm not either.

Facebook reminds me of Monty Python's Life of Brian..."Look, you've got it all wrong! You don't NEED to follow ME, You don't NEED to follow ANYBODY! You've got to think for your selves! You're ALL individuals!"
"Yes! We're all individuals!"
"You're all different!"
"Yes, we are all different!"
