I bet I could rename most of those with fancy charcuterie terms and have folks snarf them up.
Ok, maybe not the Spam and limas.

Mother made the egg salad/tuna salad/ham salad loaf for her bridge club. I loved it! She made it for my birthday once and I ate practically the whole thing. She baked a special loaf of bread for it and cut it perfectly square as I recall. I think I'll make it and see if it's as good as I remember.

My 13yr old grandson has a hard time believing that food was rationed during WW2. I bought a can of Spam to show him what a lot of people ate but I keep forgetting to cook it for him. DH practically had a stroke when he saw it in the cupboard.

Marvelous recipes. They represented a willingness to go into the kitchen with an open mind, imagination, a sense of adventure and no boundaries.

To learn from culinary mistakes, there must be a willingness to make them in the first place. The spirit of these recipes begat the likes of Nathan Myhrvold, Heston Bloomin' Onion, Ferran Adrià and other bold modernists.

Those cup steak puddings look truly vile, but I am SO going to make the igloo meatloaf.
