I guess that I am in a minority who valued MJ's participation at the CIBB and find her treatment here to be a little bit beyond shabby.

I'm with you Jim, and I think that things which were considered extremely rude didn't strike me as rude at all, but different cultures and all that. And, I think there were a few PM's tossed around too. And, I spent a long time in very highly combative work environments, so I probably have a screwed up threshold for rude, especially online.

In a any case, the general tone here is good 99% of the time.

Agreed. And while there were people on TOBB (and on other boards, and at work) that I may not like, can we all agree not to use names anymore on this board?
Except for the food celebrities. Open season on them. :D

Didn't we already hash this out on the "FIGJAM" thread, ages ago?

Let's save our sniping for CK, who can take it (and, for that matter, dish it back). ;-)

There's also not much point in bitching about any idiots on TOBB anymore, since it's about to cease to exist. Instead, let's bitch about ChowHound.[1]

The old board was a toxic atmosphere starting in 2008, when Justin and Lindsey left BCP and the staff there got more concerned about banning threads which criticized BCP than fixing the bugs. I'm sure a lot of folks on TOBB picked up on that toxic atmosphere by becoming vicious and petty themselves. Please let's not get toxic here.

[1] Just kidding, please let's not go there.

Fuzzy,

It was more than criticism of them. I was sent a pointed memo suggesting that I was less than fair with my criticisms of All-Clad Metallcrafters. You know the company that wins EVERY CI Test and distributes BCP subscription/book literature in every box.

Then there was the DaVinci Olive Oil scandal... That one was beyond the pale.

I'm pretty sure that was meant to be self deprecating, though I'll join him on that list 😃
