Nice! I wonder if there's a way to do that without the microwave?

That's brilliant! I have to admit that I tend to avoid corn on the cob because I hate dealing with the silk. I like the 4 minutes per cob directions too (I tend to be an overnuker).

Edit: and how cute was the gentleman in the clip too...I got a kick out of the ovegloves.

Related to this, a few years ago CI had some very complicated instructions for the "best" way to grill corn-on-the-cob. They had us soaking it, carefully peeling back the husk, removing the silk, putting the husk back, and tying it on.

Having gone to several County Fairs, the Mexican grilled corn booths never do anything of the sort. They just throw the corn on the grill. And it's good.

So, this year 3 times we just took some corn, trimmed off the tassel, and threw it on a very hot (600F) grill. Turned it a few times, until the husk was blackened in several parts. Not only did it turn out delicious ... better than the complicated CI method ... but once cooked, the silk was very easy to peel off and came off with the husk.

I completely shuck it and throw it on the Weber....turn frequently and it gets wonderfully carmalized. Best corn ever.
