The "in love" comment was about my iPhone...

I've been a Mac girl forever...it killed me not being able to have an iPhone before now. My friends here who are also friends on FB are probably better aware of this.

MSecure -- invaluable for keeping track of passwords, etc. -- can sync with your computer so all the info is on both places

Love MSecure.....one of my favorites
Also, Scrabble
Flashlight (great when you need extra light source)
Shazam
Huff Post
NY Times
Pandora (great satellite music app)
Red Laser (reads bar codes and tels you wherre to find it cheaper)

No cooking related ones, but love the ones I have

I am an incurable romantic :D so the prospect of another bloom blinded me to the reference to an inanimate object (I do own one, though)!

Agree....Arianna is staying on in an editorial capacity, but for how long?

I've had a little bit of trouble getting used to how Grocery Gadget works, but, I think I'm going to have fun with this thing when I go the grocery store tomorrow. You'll be able to spot me...I'll be the one scanning barcodes up and down each aisle.

My experience is a bit limited (and my tastes might run different), but the following are my usual group of recommended apps, plus a few I found while doing some quick searching:

-Remote (use your phone to control your iTunes? Yes, please!)
-Word Lens (probably one of THE most "It can do that???" apps out there)
-Air Sharing (Pro) (Use your phone as a WiFi flash drive...and more)
-Pandora (already mentioned - take Pandora.com along with you wherever you go)
-Shazam (also already mentioned - find out what song is playing and who does it)
-Soundhound (like Shazam, only more expensive - Available online at midomi.com for free from your PC)
-RunPee (tells you when it's safe to go...at the movies)
-Photogene (photo adjustment from within the iPhone)
-Photoshop Express (if Photogene isn't enough for you)
-Fring (Messages messages much less messy than most message messagers)
-iTeleport (Control your computer from your iPhone. Yes, really)
-RedLaser (One of the apps most likely to get me to finally buy an iPhone)
-Google Earth (just what you're used to, but in your pocket)
-AroundMe (Out and about and looking for something? Check here)
-NetFlix (if you're a NF customer, it's a no-brainer, really)
-Bump (Quick and entertaining way to exchange contact info)
