Juli and I have joined up, having been invited after expressing my frustration in dealing with ATK customer service. Thanks for the invitation, wino! Looks like a good board. We're just a couple amateur cooks who like to cook and like to eat. We've got a food blog that has been going for a few months now. If interested, check it out at http://www.jeffreyandjulicook.blogspot.com. Hopefully you'll see some things you like, or find interesting, or which at least have amusement value. - Jeffrey

Welcome Jeffrey and Julie...you will find this a very congenial community...lots of knowledge and lots of fun. Most of us are former friends form the Cook's Illustrated Bulletin Board, which you will see here referred to as TOB, or TOBB. ilene

Welcome. I like your blog. I love the idea of the Greek meatballs. You probably need an egg in that mix. What I would do is find a "normal" meatball recipe and sub lamb for beef and use the spices you had. I bake every meatball recipe but that shouldn't be an issue for how they hold together.
Keep working on that one!
Mary

Thanks for the welcome, all. And for the advice, Mary. I will probably try out that recipe in the next couple weeks again, and go with some egg this time.

crystal wrote: Welcome, Love the blog and photos. Thank you! Here, btw, is what I posted on the CI bulletin board. Quote: After dealing with ATK customer service, I now completely understand, and have sympathy for, others' complaints. Inappropriate billing, perpetually-unavailable online account information, no response to multiple emails, calling and getting absolutely no option to talk to a person, and, predictably, not being called back after leaving a message have dampened my enthusiasm for ATK's products and websites. I assume the folks at ATK care about their reputations, so I don't know why they let dreadful customer service and inappropriate (a word I use only because I'm a bit reluctant to use fraudulent) billing practices continue.
If our concerns aren't corrected quickly, we're going to stop recommending their online sites on our blog, and may entirely discontinue reviewing and/or recommending ATK recipes and products. We're strongly considering not renewing any of our subscriptions, for either the online sites or the magazines.
Does that sound pretty typical of others' experience with ATK customer service?

Nice web site. Welcome to the board.
The only way to learn to frost a cake, short of taking lessons, is to jump in and do it. Looks like you did a pretty good job.
