The funding is the #1 thing. All of our regulatory agencies have been starved for funds for the past 10 years, resulting in very little regulating going on. I'm not so keen on giving the FDA powers to issue bans and recalls. They've shown remarkably poor judgement when creating food scares in the past (e.g. last year's tomato false alarm). |
