...just resting (I wish). Actually, just busy adjusting to life with bambino. Haven't been thinking too much about food, lately, but that's about to change as we gear up to introduce Cary to food that can't be drunk. Missed y'all. ;)

Glad to know you are still out there....it will be great to read your postings again. Are you making baby food?

We're going to try Baby-Led Weaning -- Basically, we'll just offer him food (whatever we're eating, mostly) and anything he can grab and stuff in his pie-hole is what he eats. Obviously, nothing he can choke on, like nuts. Most babies start on finger-food at about 6-7 months. With BLW, you're just skipping the spoon-fed stage. WHO recommends holding off on solid foods that long anyway. There's lots of blogs out there by people who are going this route. Check them out if you have a hankering to see cute babies gnawing on lamb chops or putting spaghetti in (near) their mouths (or hair).

Nice to see you! Babies take up an amazing amount of time, don't they.

I kind of did that with my youngest, unwittingly though. She had a bit of eczema on her face and the dr. said to wait til 9 months to start with solids. By that time she didn't need much baby food. For both kids I just pretty much mashed up what we were eating with the hand blender, sometimes mixing it with baby cereal to make it smoother. The only time I used real baby food was when on the road, for my convenience. The oldest one refused it though and she is still kind of fussy. The plus side of giving you the food you eat is that they learn to like that. And chicken nuggets. They all like chicken nuggets.

Good luck an welcome back!

Mary

Me too, my girls hardly ate any baby food. By 7-8 months they were eating what we did. Like Mary, mashed up or cut into tiny bits. I think it's much better for them, unless you are going to make your own baby food.
