Well, I clicked my way over from Darcie's Bakin'n'Bacon. Still fairly active on the CI boards, it might not be as chummy as it once was, but I like being able to help the real neophytes. And I can manage snarky once in a while too.
After 18 years of abusing the knees and back I have left the bakeshop and have become certified as a paralegal. I am now looking for work, but it seems that paralegals are being hired where lawyers are not.

Of course...it makes perfect sense if you get two for the price of one...

I was looking for your $10/day for meals on the CI board. Now I see that I first saw it here. I think we would all appreciate if you would continue to post your menus. Most of us are trying to economize.
Thanks
Kathy

Okey-doke, but we have a houseguest this week so I'm splurging a little.

Jessbell, Yeah, Southfield always seemed a little off to me. Not much soul. However, there are a great Jewish deli on 12 Mile just west of Telegraph. They had great rye. Are they still there? I need to go back and visit my mom soon. It's a trip I alwyas seem to put off. I am not a good daughter.

Never been there, but maybe I'll check it out.

Hi,

The names seem familiar but the discussion has a gentle feel. Could this be home? Is Ellie Mae hiding in this corner of the world?

I have a wonderful wife who is a talented baker specializing in gingerbread houses. I have four married sons with three of them cooking most of their meals. And, yes things are different. Thankfully and finally, I am now a brand new Grandfather...that means even more old bones in my kitchen. Both parents are biologists; maybe the other boys didn't study that chapter in grade school.

Three of my four son's do the majority of the cooking for their wives. One is a sous chef who cooks with me for holidays. (It used to be awful and is now wonderful.) One owns a new restaurant in NYC that seems to be well received. No. 7 Restaurant I was the best man at his wedding. The others have growing careers and in this economy we do feel blessed.

The names on this BB look familiar. Maybe, I should read this complete thread. This could be home.

Tim

ps: Why is there no Sandra Lee forum?

We all know MiGirl means 'throw' but when she throws she does so thoroughly through whatever window or doorway Sara Lee wants to go out. (Be gentle MiGirl, you know I'm sensitive. )

This is a wonderful board, full of misfits and mad hatters. Reading all of the threads would not be a waste of time. It will give you a good idea of some of the interests - definitely an eclectic group.
