Note, though, that Mr. Kramer is booked up for the forseeable future, so forget buying yourself one unless you're a famous enough chef to cut into his schedule. Also, the "Bob Kramer" knives sold by W-S aren't actually
made by him (or handmade, period), just designed by him.
You can get less expensive hand-forged knives from the Ferndale Blacksmith:

However, they're quite a bit heavier and not nearly as carefully designed or high-class as the Kramer knives. Mor importantly, there's quite a bit of individual variation so it's hard to buy one without trying it out in person.
