I realize this is always relative, but still...
We decided on Caesar salad with a VERY chilled wine on the deck in the shade!
You?

We have reached our time of misery in S Florida, the time of year when we pay for our beautiful winters, the time when the natives walk across huge expanses of blacktop parking lots in the heat just to be able to park under partial shade. It is oppressive this time of year, and we are in a drought, so everything is brown but the humidity is still very high. This week has averaged 95F/35C.

Blah.

It has been VERY hot here in the Northern Rockies. Average last week was in the mid 90's. The humidity was 7%.
Finally last evening we got some rain! Today is supposed to be about 75°F. A little relief from the heat but only for a couple of days.
Grilled salmon for dinner.

Apparently we just missed the heat wave here on Salt Spring. As of today, it's 17C and off-and-on drizzle. Not great for us, but the Canadian firefighters sure appreciate it.

People often forget that eating hot peppers cools the body! LOL

Yeah, but AC cools the processor. So I'll just be sittin' in front of the computer, chillin'.

Yup. Some days have been too hot to even be in the shade....followed by thunderstorms as that's how it goes here. It's been a storm/night for over a week.

We've been cool but coming into a hot patch. Looking forward to some sun and cold beverages.

Yesterday was great here - 83° and low humidity, and only a little warmer and more humid today. But the forecast starting tomorrow is not good. Fortunately, KOW, we haven't had temps in the high 90s, only low 90s, so my tomatoes haven't dropped their blossoms, and they are ripening big time, as it has gotten cool enough at night. I just harvested about 8 qts. of them!

We've had rain, rain, rain. Not sunny or hot enough for tomatoes to ripen. Basil isn't growing like it normally does, either. We've had a few very hot spells but so far it's been a pretty rotten summer.
