I'm thinking more of doing this with measuring bowls. And maybe something I would find more useful than volume markings would be the weight on the OUTSIDE, in oz. and grams. I already have this, but the markings are done with an electric engraver, which results in a very fine line, which I really have to search for. |

This method is more analogous to spray painting and allows you to use stencils, which allows for more creativity. The engraver method requires more steadyhandedness, but should be just as effective. --Geekboy |

I'm glad you reminded me of this! I even went out, to get the stencils, but craft shops here didn't have what I needed, so I went online to look, but didn't order. The garden took precedent, and I totally forgot to try this method. |

I have a plastic pourer that I got years ago for my Bunn coffeemaker (now dead). I use it to measure the water for my current Coffeemaker (Technivorm). There are no markings on the pourer, it is just opaque plastic and approximately 1-2½ qts. I used a label maker to create a straight line and affixed it to the outside at the level I needed. I suppose I could have just used a Sharpie but that seems to rub off after a time. |
