Hope that those of us who celebrate are having a great long weekend! For us it has been wine and a ploughman's lunch under the pergola, mojitos unter the patio umbrlla, and we'll do a charcoal BBQ tonight. Skipping the formal celebrations tonight. I tried to talk DH into going to the fireworks at the local farmers market, but he said he would rather avoid the crowds. Plus it's 30 C here today, so a bit hot for much else but lounging. |

Happy day from us too! We went to a friends but came home before fireworks since tomorrow I have to leave for work early and the kids are coming with me. Made a couscous salad for the party, it had chopped zucchini, peppers, chickpeas and raisons with a lemon and evoo dressing, very tasty and keeps for a few days. Cool temps here but that's okay. |

Have fun! We're gearing up for a national celebration here, and it's almost 40C. So ... maybe celebrating indoors. (I'm in Southern Oregon right now) |
