Well, a bunch of my friends agreed that politics makes you hungry. One friend (a libertarian) got Breyer's Triple Chocolate ice cream because at least that "gives you a third option." I used it as an excuse to stuff obscene amounts of clearance candy corn in my face.

Have you seen Gov. Hickenlooper's comment about Colorado's vote to legalize marijuana?

"The voters have spoken and we have to respect their will," Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper said in a statement. "This will be a complicated process, but we intend to follow through. That said, federal law still says marijuana is an illegal drug so don't break out the Cheetos or gold fish too quickly."

Cracked me up. Hey, the comment was food-related. :D

I love my Governor...

I recently had the privilege of listing to General Rick Hillier speak on leadership at my company. He told a story about finding fields of marijuana in Afghanastan and determining how to get rid of it. They decided to burn it, forgetting there were 8 soldiers holding the line downwind of the fire. He said they had the munchies for 2 weeks.

Amy,

Hah!

Yeah, Colorado surprised a lot of people. It's an amazing new country where California voted against legalization and Colorado for it. Of course, here the growers were funding the anti-legalization campaign (profits are higher if it's illegal).

I predict 6 new "baking with MJ" cookbooks in the next 18 months.

Actually Josh it didn't surprise me. Colorado is becoming increasingly liberal, at least in some parts of the state. And, people are already used to the medical sale of it, so it seems a logical step. It's going to be an uphill battle on the federal level though.
