I am designing a logo for a cooking group affiliated with a local Talk Radio Station. This is what I have sent to them so far just so they can get an idea of what I can do. They want to keep the design simple which works for me. Any comments or suggestions of elements that I could use in the design?

Of these my preference is the red one but I also like the idea of using garlic bulbs for the letter 'O' in all or some of the words as you did in the b/w one at the top left. I would like to see these ideas combined.

Better, but there may be too many garlic. Try just having them in the word 'cook'. Also, run it by others, not only for a variety of opinions but for the first time fresh look. That will simulate the first-time viewer/customer. I like the use of red and the font - it reads well.

I like the garlic "o" to just be in the word love. I think it's too much in "cook." Otherwise I like it.

Very nice, but I still prefer the 'pop' of the red.

Like that. You may want to keep it just black, depending for what and how thy want to use it. I like the red though.

The colors are just for me to differentiate more easily between the artworks. I am hoping they like the Red and Black combo, but so far my contact likes the Blue and White combination.

Generally, in the marketing world, the client is the least important opinion; that is why I suggested you do a small sample of people unrelated to the project - neighbors, friends, strangers in a coffee shop, etc. are all valid. Pick 10, one at a time tell them what you are doing, then show them 3 samples and record your results. What you are looking for is what catches the eye and interest enough to make the phone ring. Show that to the client.
