The toaster idea is Genious. Make a toasted cheese sandwich without heating an oven or toaster oven. Freezing ground beef and then just breaking off what you need is also pretty cool. |

Todd. I dunno. Seems like the toast would shoot out of the toaster oven and across the counter when done, kind of like a hot molten cheese hockey puck. No? |

Fuzzy - As kids that was part of the fun in making cinammon toast; we'd try to place our plates 'just right' to catch both slices - one was easy, the challenge was stacking the 2 simultaneously. Interesting how entertainment was more humanly-manufactured then... |

Fuzzy, I was thinking you could just stick a knife or fork in there to remove them before the toaster ejected them. LOL |

I saw some heat proof bags (like parchment paper) and you are supposed to put your cheese and bread in them and stick it in the toaster. I haven't tried them as I am not busy enough to feel pressured by making a grilled cheese sandwich conventionally. I also said this when electric windows in cars came out but recently was in a Maltese rental car with the old fashioned rolly windows and was totally annoyed. That and the fact that it was a darned near stripped stick and I had to drive it on the left side of the road. Mary |

The other morning I told my grandson to roll up his window and he looked at me like I was nuts! Oh, how times have changed! fitzie |

The upshot is that they do work, but there's no good way to clean the bag afterwards, which means you're throwing away a silicone/foil bag for every sandwich. Me, I prefer a grill pan and bacon weight. |
