Any of our folks feel the quake?

I get a kick out of some of the bloggers blogs...among the better ones...

Dear East Coast --

Call us when you get above a 6.5 and we'll talk.

Sincerely,

San Francisco

Looks like the Colorado, NM, border area around Raton / Trinidad even got a pretty good quake last night.

We felt it up here. My building got evacuated. I was walking to the other side of the building and didn't feel it but those sitting sure did.
My kids (20 minutes away) didn't notice a thing.

Yup, felt it here in NYC. It was actually pretty frightening for a few seconds. I'm on the 35th floor of the McGraw Hill Bldg. Felt like the bldg was sinking.

My building shook a little bit...not enough to evacuate though - we're only 4 floors

ATK tweeted that they felt it, too

Yes, it was a 5.3 and the one in Virginia was a 5.8. But the one here was deep whereas the one in Virginia was shallow, hence why the wave of shaking was very different from each one.

Felt it here in NC. Very weird. The only other time I experienced one was in SF in the late 70's, and it was milder and of shorter duration than this one.

I was sitting in Wegman's parking lot, getting ready to leave when the car started rocking, and I thought, " Crap! an earthquake. And don't forget to gas up before you leave...."

Sorry, California thinking.....

One of my FB friends posted this joke:

There was just a 5.8 earthquake in Washington. Obama wanted it to be 3.4 but the republicans wanted 5.8, so he compromised.

Actually, I was pretty impressed. 5.8 is a noticeable earthquake, even around here.

I'm also worried. Does this mean that SF is going to get a hurricane?
