Jean,
You'll love it. So much less stuff, as Lindsay points out. Totally don't have to pack 40#s of books for vacation. Leaving 8/20 for TWO WEEKS(can y'all believe that?). We will be toting 2 ipads and 4 kindles, 3 iphones(Steve loves the hell out of us)! Maybe I'll cook on vacation!  Mebbe not, if FIL comes(he's been ill, really) I may just get drunk at breakfast, lol.

thanks everyone. I've been perusing our library e-reader options and will try it out. I've become addicted to books on CD for the commute but I think hubby would like me to be able to not have a nightstand full of books. :-)

Jean,

The Kobo is pretty much an exclusively Canadian thing. So I guess it depends on whether you want books from somewhere other than Chapters. I have no idea how hackable it is, or what it's features are like.

I vaguely like the nook because it's essentially a Linux tablet, and they make it trivially easy to hack if you want to make it into more than an e-reader.

I'm still in the category where 70% of what I read ... and I read a LOT ... isn't available easily as ebooks. So I've never been attacted to an ereader.
