I don't want to rub salt into the wound so I won't tell you the temperature in my neck of the woods...I stayed in NYC last summer and remember the heat wave...baby Jaden was not happy and wondering where the nearest beach or pool was located...drink lots of water and hope this heat wave breaks for you all...Crystal, I loved your post!...lol!

We just came back from 5 days of camping in the heat Paul posted. Normally in the parks (among the trees) we need long sleeves and pants and night...but not this trip! we even slept on top of our sleeping bags. Normally the kids eat like fiends when camping, but this time not so much, they were just too hot. We did smores under protest...no one wanted to be near the fire!
Back home now and it's still hot. Cereal for dinner. It was about all I could muster up the energy for.

103º yesterday, heat index of 119º. Whenever it is like this I just keep repeating to myself "I can't stand heat, but my peppers love it."

Minor consolation in that heat.

You better believe it! Pool cabanas are only the tip of the iceberg. They also arranged a fantastic dinner at a Japanese restaurant called Yellowtail. Highlights were flatbreads with raw tuna and truffle oil, sushi with tuna and watermelon pop rocks and kobi beef short ribs. Plus tons more on a balcony overlookin the Bellagio fountains. Real life is going to be tough.

A cool 96 with Heat Index of 109 today. After awhile, its just freakin hot.
But I agree about the veggies, especially the peppers and cukes. They seemed to double in size every 2 hours! I've picked 8 cucumbers and approx 20 thai/jalapenos since Friday night when only 2 cukes looked ripe and no peppers.
Crazy weather for some good 'cue and salsas ;)
