All,

If you would be interested in a meetup in SF or Napa/Sonoma in August or September, then please check all the survey options which apply. Here's what needs to happen for there to be a real meetup:

1. At least 5 people need to say they are available for the same month.

2. At least 1 person has to say they will help me organize (this person need not be local).

If it don't get those responses, I'll assume that it's a wash.

I think you know what to expect from SF: great restaurants, great markets, wine tasting, etc. Please put any notes on specific availability and/or desires in your replies.

Everything in me wants to but unfortunatly I cannot commit this early...new little girls and a just awarded guvment contract that will have me on a plane nearly every week going somewhere(?) really is screwing up my ability to commit...I am certainly open to dropping in if possible when the event happens.

Who volunteered to help organize? I need a comment to know who you are.

Oops, that was me. I can do stuff that can be done long distance.

Darcie,

So ... then, do you have a preference for September vs. August? They're pretty close to tied.

Just an FYI - September is usually better, because the kids are back in school (unless of course, you have little ones.) The weather is still nice that time of year.

Yes, but early in September. My brother is getting married the last week of Sept. and I'm making the cake.

Before I forget.....whoever works on this, please give an adventure day? I love seeing you all and having the events, but I don't think I'm alone in saying that a touristy day would be welcome, not so scheduled....I don't actually need a day is SF, but others likely will. Isn't it a sin to go to The City and not take a cable car, go on Lombard Street, Fisherman's Wharf, etc.?

I loved Chicago, but thank heaven I was "forgot" and had an afternoon at the Lincoln Park Conservatory and Zoo,,,,,

KSS,

Yeah, we need to scope out the activities. Rest assured that there will be some touristing, although it may be food-centric touristing. I think for standard tourist stuff (cable car etc.) it might make more sense just to give people a list of information so they can arrive a day early.

The first question, though, is going to be: Napa or City of San Francisco?
