Also, I'm quite willing to make mayo by hand for part of the condiment demo. It's one of my favorite tricks to impress people who don't cook.

Becky,
I was thinking I could demo different kinds of buttercream frostings and then have a taste-test. Let me know if this fits in with your program.

My cousin who is coming with me, make Biscotti together and could demo that. However, I'm sure most of you already make it so it may not be of interest. If it is let me know and we will do it.

Biscotti and buttercreams-what could go wrong? Sounds great guys, and keep the ideas coming.

I have finalized the group booking at the Belden Stratford. Our rates, good until April 4th, are $175.00 for the smaller suites and $239.00 for the big ones. These are both lower than I originally thought they would be. There is more than enough room to share in these, so please plan amongst yourselves to make it affordable. The hotel is across the street form Lincoln Park, a block or two away from some shopping, a short ride to North Michigan Avenue and then the Loop. I was floored by the spaces here. Sabine-if you hadn't pushed I would never have known about this place and it would have been my loss. Thanks!
I hope lots of you will decide to join us!

A good friend of mine has invited me to stay with him on this trip. He lives one block off of Lakeshore Dr. He knows this hotel and tells me that it's not too far from where he lives. I know there are some people who are staying with other people etc., so my question is do we have to have a minimum number of rooms booked to get this rate?

We need a total of 5 guest nights. That's one 3 night stay and one 2 night stay, or one 4 night stay and a 1 night stay, or however it breaks down.
If necessary I will book a room to get the rate and then cancel if no-one wants it. If people are really broke and Chicagoans want to offer house space, that can work too. I have room at my place for a person or two.

I booked one of the large suites last night. I hope others are staying there too, that's one eliment that makes it fun. I would be interested in knowing who else is staying there. Maybe we could post here so others know where everyone will be. I know Todd, Kathy and Pete are staying elsewhere and Becky you'll be home of course. Who else is attending and where are you staying?
