And the time draws near-If you're thinking of doing a demo for the kitchen session, please email me your recipes and info so that we can make up a friendly booklet for the crowd.
If you're thinking about attending, it's still possible to get the special rates at the hotel-have I mentioned that it's a fabulous space?
If you're an area local and want to play, please PM me for more info on places and so on.
So far it looks like this:
Thursday night-reception and get-together.
Friday AM-breakfast, shopping and a trip on the water. Either from Navy Pier onto the lake or a trip on the river. Perhaps a view from a very tall building too.
Lunch at a Chicago local fave-Hot Doug's, where they make hot dogs from anything, including foie gras.
Friday Afternoon; a talk about spices from the folks at The Spice House, then a demo from my local butcher on breaking down a beef, then a visit and demo with Bob Piron, Belgian chocolatier, in his shop. Then dinner.
Sat AM- a visit to the farmer's market, then cooking lunch from what we've found.
After lunch is the kitchen session-we have a few demos offered, including buttercreams, vinegar tastings and biscotti.
Then dinner at North Pond, a great spot, where the food is local and seasonal and really tasty, too.
Sunday-brunch at the amazing pancake house or dim-sum, which ever folks prefer.
I know this will be a blast, so decide to join in!

I was thinking that a trip on the Lake would a fun thing to do. Would anyone be interested in a moonlight cruise on the tall Ship Windy? We could go from 9-10PM on Friday, or from 11-Midnight on Saturday. It's $25.00.

We'll have to carry Kathy because she will be sleeping, but other than that it sounds like fun!

So I have formed a Yahoo group for this event. If you plan on joining us, even for just one part of the weekend, please send me your email, so I can add you to the list. If you just want more info contact me as well. Thanks,
BeckyH
PS-if anyone can point me towards Marilyn (bunnyw) and Katiepie I would be grateful. (I've moved 5 times in the last 5 years. records are in disarray.)
