Hey Josh!
I think you can find Hawkins Bar on google earth. we have a population of 200 in the summer,right now there are only about 50 of us. I am in the 6 Rivers Nat'l Forest, with the beautiful jade green Trinity River right over my deck. Hwy 299 is a mile from me. I go to Eureka to shop. It's not bad. The only thing I really miss from the Bay Area is the live seafood tanks at the asian market. The only live seafood I can get now is dungeness crab. (which is a good thing!)

Wow, great. I'll have to drop by next time wife and I go up to Sea Ranch or Ferndale.
What are you doing for a living up there?

Ha Ha! Income would be nice. Right now we are living of off my husband's pension. If I expect to make some serious home improvements and have an awesome landscape, I need to work. I am still getting settled in and getting familiar with things around here. When I was in the Bay Area, I had a successful Landscape Design and Horticultural Consulting business. I hope to do the same here eventually, focusing on habitat restoration, plant ID, and maybe helping people grow their local crops (wink,wink)
better. It took me a long to to build up my business before, and I am sure I can do it again.
How is your business going? Aren't you doing consulting now?

Right now, yes. I can always fall back on consulting when I don't have something else going.
