LOL Ilene. I like the idea of September!
For me it would totally be dependent on the cost of a flight from buffalo to denver. I am already commited May 28 and June 10 weekends as of now, and July and August are usually no gos for me anyway. But decide without me and if I can make it I will.
On a related note, that June 10th weekend I will be in NYC for a wedding on the Friday night and am hoping to get into the city on the 11th for lunch/dinner. Will start a thread on a meet there closer to the date but wanted to throw it out there.

Hi all,
Denver sounds fun, but I could also get into Montreal or Vegas, too. I think we would end up blowing a LOT of money in vegas, just cause you can... :)
Would LOVE to meet some of you and see the rest of you again!

I agree with Ilene...I think we're best to avoid the middle of summer. Even though it's a dry heat, it's dang hot. I could go either way...late spring/early summer, or late summer/early Fall.

I sent my Chef from culinary school an email and asked about whether we could rent the facility. He said yes, and I called the contact he gave me. She needs to check with the school President to see what kind of price break they'd give to an alumni. She said she'd call me back in the next couple of days. It's an awesome facility with three kitchens: hot line, garde mange and pastry, but it's intimate enough to not feel lost. (For those of you who were in San Antonio, this facility is much more contained.) It also has a wood burning oven...God, I miss that thing.

Amy,

oooh! oooh! put me down for wood-burning oven pizza. I am so there.

Josh,

First come, first served, although I may want to make some bread in it as well. It's a fairly big oven, so we can share. ;)

Wood-fired oven? I am going to make a serious effort to make this one.

So, should we shoot for Sept....the weekend following Labor Day?

Works for me, or the weekend after that. We're crazy busy at the restaurant Labor Day weekend because it's Film Fest (and we always do a huge party for Starz!, which keeps us all rocking pretty hard), so my availability to do last minute arrangements would suffer if it were the weekend after that, but I can manage.

What's the weather like in September? It's about a 1,200 mile motorcycle ride which is a piece of cake in nice weather, but would really suck if the weather is bad. Freezing rain in the mountains would be my biggest worry!

My brother and I rode in Snow and Freezing rain in June of last year in Yellowstone and it was not fun. The lakes were still frozen and man was it cold being on a motorcycle.

Todd
Typically September weather is ideal....not a lot of rain, so no freezing rain. It is possible, but highly unlikely that the mountains could get snow in September, but very rare. Sept is beautiful in the mountains and in Denver.

Amy
I can easily handle the second weekend after Labor Day, if that makes it easier for you to be up here for last minute things.
