Potentially, the dates would be September 16-18, 2011. I am checking with the local CVB to see if there are any city wide conventions booked for that weekend because if so, it will be hard to ask hotel friends for a discounted rate.
If those dates are clear, I think we should proceed to "book it"

What's the weather like in September? It's about a 1,200 mile motorcycle ride which is a piece of cake in nice weather, but would really suck if the weather is bad. Freezing rain in the mountains would be my biggest worry!

Denver is still in the high plains, so the weather there is vastly different than it is in the mountains. So, Ilene is absolutely correct the weather should be ideal in Denver, however, the mountains could get freezing rain (or even snow...it's happened here over Blues & Brews, our last festival of the summer), but typically the weather in September is wonderful in the mountains.

If you do ride your bike, I would greatly encourage you to take a tour in the mountains after the meet-up. The aspens start to turn around that time in the highest mountains. If you like, I could give you an itinerary. Heck, Andy may even join you.

That's great Ilene! It's Blues & Brews weekend here, so I'm just as happy to get out of Dodge...I love the Blues, but the smell of beer makes me gag, so I never go.

Cook St. said they haven't published calendars for Fall yet, so most anything could be worked out.

Do these dates pose a problem for anyone?
