All,

I've just renewed the annual rent on the virtual server this board runs on, which comes to $400/year (notice that the board is almost never slow anymore? better server). Now, the board isn't the primary use of that server, but it does make up around 1/4 of the traffic on it these days.

I'm not about to start charging for the board, of course. But ... I wouldn't mind a donation or two; business has been rough this year. I don't like paypal for various historical reasons, so if you like the board and the economy has been relatively good to you, there's five things you can do:

  1. Send me food / gourmet stuff. Shipping address below.
  2. Send me a check (same)
  3. Powell's gift certificates (I buy a lot of books): http://www.powells.com
  4. Charity donation to any environmental cause
  5. Find and send me some smooth thin nylon spatulas (turners)*

Again, this isn't obligatory, and I'm not going to shut the board down if nobody does anything. But, if you can help, it's appreciated. Thanks!

My shipping address:
Josh Berkus
2166 Hayes Street
Suite 200
San Francisco, CA 94117

(* by this I mean the old-style, disposable smooth thin stiff plastic turners which melted after a while, and seem to be no longer manufactured. If you can find some, even at a garage sale, I'd be grateful!)

$50 is on its way via the snail; maybe this will inspire Da Bull Man to put down his reloads long enough to snuff a few moths in his billfold, then he can go back to chop bustin'

By the way, Mr. Fur Ball, thanks for all of the hard work, the original idea, carrying through with that idea, and putting up with all of us (yeah, including Frank)!

I see lots of eyeballs on this thread but no responses as beautiful as mine :o :D

Shoot (pun intended) it's worth a fifty one (gotta out do Wino) spot to me just to have a forum that I can run rampant without fear of being deleted and chastized and is free of the snobbery that has taken over the OB.

Heck...even my bean eatin Buddy Josh tolerates my shenannigens...

I'm in Arkansas this week & next but will put the squeeze on my comptroller (wife) this weekend and get ya something mailed out, If not this week...the next for sure.

BTW...Wino...I have my suspicions on how you wore out your arm & shoulder...nuff said

It wasn't playing the bagpipes! :o

BTW, and thanks for asking, I got a clean bill of health this Tuesday from the bones guy in Bismarck :D
3 more weeks of physio with rubber bands (don't go there either...) and I can start serious weight training again. Currently, my right bicep does a very good imitation of Popeye's!

HEY Josh, there has got to be commission on this since I was able to pry blood fron the stone???
And YES the check (or cheque in Canadian English) went in the mail this morning (not next week or maybe the week after or, or, or...). By our postal standards it should be there in a month or more.

I'm heading out of town for a few days, but next week look for a small package with a treat and a check. Wanted to get it to the PO today, but ran out of time. :)

Thanks for all you do Fuzzy!

Laurie

How about a sweater made of dog hair? My lab is shedding like MAD right now.

Really though, expect something, I'll put it on my to-do list.

Thanks,
Lynn

Lynn,

How about, as thanks, not sending me a dog hair sweater? :?

"Gee, Lynn, you shouldn't have. No, I mean that ..."
