To my eyes at least, there isn't any distinction to identify text that's clickable for a web link unless you happen to mouse over the text. It's easy when posting to add in an alternate color or bolding for clickable text, but I was wondering whether phpBB had a provision to automatically add some distinctive appearance (such as a different color and/or bolding) to text with an underlying URL.

Thanks.

http://menu.vldyson.com

If you use the first form of URL, and I can't get the second to work, at least it has a leading http:// which should help.

It is also bolder.

I think the second form is just expressed poorly in the tooltip. Its structure should be the same as on other boards:
[ url=http://www.amazon.com ]Amazon[ /url ]

My problem is that on my LCD screen I can't see a very obvious difference in the text. Looks like it's light grey if it's a link you haven't visited and black if it's a link you have visited:
Amazon

This link is black but your vldyson.com link looks lighter than the normal text to me.

I was thinking blue would be more obvious than grey or black.

All,

Yes, that's a TODO. The "style" I chose for this board (which I picked because it's a similar color scheme to the CI forums, and because it's tasteful) has the defect of not making URLs a different color.

I have to read up on how to program phpBB styles so that I can find the single color option which controls that. Then I'll fix it. So, it'll be a few days to a couple weeks before that particular issue is fixed ... unless there's another software geek on the board who wants to tackle it!
