I would like to suggest, if it is possible, to add a "indenting" function to text posting. The tab key simply moves the focus and does not tab or move text over at all. Some forums have a button (much like some word editors) that will let you indent blocks of text so that they will appear differentiated from the rest of the text in the post. That would be handy for recipes and so forth, or so it seems to me.

Along with that, it would be nice if it was possible to store photos here. I am not a fan of photobucket and other similar sites. For various reasons, those photos seem to disappear over time. While I realize that large amounts of photos and large photos in particular could present storage problems and costs, some sort of on-site upload with size restrictions would be very handy.

For an example of this, see the forum The Fresh Loaf which allows members to upload photos with some restrictions.

Your Humble Servant,

Steve aka Tatoosh

You can upload an attachment now.

When you are typing your reply, look below the 'submit' button. There is a section for uploading attachments. There is a size restriction, so you will have to adjust, if necessary, before submitting. But it is already there.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Perfect, Tatoosh thanks for asking and SilverSage thanks for pointing that out. I didn't know that had been updated either! Way easier! :D

Oh gorsh! I think I have even used that. Such a senior moment for me. Well, glad to be of assistance, Laurie. Now, I'm off to find my depends. :?

I still would like to be able to indent text. ;)

Tatoosh,

I don't know if such a thing exists as a PHPBB mod. If someone else already coded it, and it's not too hard to install, I don't see why not.

Pete?

In the meantime, for lists of recipe ingredients, I generally use the bulleted list feature.

BTW, see the HOWTO thread in this forum for more tips on how to do things with the board software.

Well, I now see that I can use the list function without the = sign to indent. Simple and already there. Handy!

    My Blah blah blah recipe

    Some of this
    Some of that
    2 periwinkles worth of mystique
2 pinch me's worth of too good to be true
1 ladle worth of kitten giggles

Strain in large strainer or cheap muslin
Blend in Processor, Blender, or Vitamix
    Serve while still frothy

End o' Test

The list= doesn't seem to work at all for me, showing the tag as plain text without bullets. More to learn about using BB tags, I see.

Steve

Kitten giggles are a bit spendy in the Detroit area. However, three of my roommates are feline. Do you think CAT giggles would work? Should I use half a ladle?

Cat giggles are too tough and stringy, IMO. Maybe if you pressure cook them first.

Alas, no pressure cooker. Perhaps if I braised them awhile?
