I've not seen that, actually. I mentioned OT, but said:

certain OT topics are deleted ruthlessly

Perhaps I should have highlighted "certain". Politics and Religion and ruin a board very very badly. Not to mention that quite frankly, I don't want to know your politics or religion; it has ruined my respect for more then a few people, and I like the illusion of friends :)

OT in the general sense is fine by me, particularly in-thread; I like a good hijack here and there.

Personally, I like talking about politics and religion. Sadly, there are only about 8 people in the world who can do that without losing their cool.

I like talking about it too. Alas, on a BB, it is rarely discussion or "talking". More asserting and yelling.

I agree, as a point, there are probably no two more polar opposites on most issues that Fuzzy & I...but...we both have a sense of humor about our differences and I believe a respect for each other as a person. That "kinda" makes it ok...however, enter a humorless old fossil and the s*** hits the fan.

My point was that it is not "my" board and I want to be respectful of the personality of the board, and stand up and tell those who might want to change it to go butt a stump...for obvious reasons I would not fit in a egullet...  that is fine with me, they shouldn't bend for me. That's who they are.

Perhaps a poll is in order so those who might want a more (or less) structured place could cast a vote without comment or attribution. As for me, I just love this place.. :D

I say screw the voting, screw the naval gazing, just post, have fun and fix problems as they arrive. We don't have one, so don't look for trouble.

I'll say that my boss was really worried about my management style for some time :D
