Folks,

Instead of actually implementing the features people are asking for (since they're hard) I've enabled one new feature and disabled another one.

The enabled feature is "quick reply" which is a simple text box for dashing off a one-line reply to folks at the bottom of each topic page.

I've disabled "post review". This feature meant that if someone else replied to a topic while you were composing, the board would ask you "do you still want to post this?". I think this feature was causing a bunch of people to lose their posts, so it's disabled now.

Never used it but, frankly, the Wino would never let another's opinion sway him from responding mid-thought...

Hi,

I would not want to think that posting would actually require me to consider the content before blurting out. That might stifle my creativity.

Fuzzy:

FYI, on my "other" board I added this mod to include the BBCode buttons and smilies to the Quick reply window.

Pete,

Hmmm ... doesn't that defeat the purpose of "quick reply"?

Actually, Pete,

Given that you're good at installing mods and stuff, let me see if it's possible to give you permissions on just the board HTML directory. While the chat mod went OK, I feel like I'm done editing PHP and CSS, at least for the week.

Pete,

Done. You now have the ability to hack the board. Try that mod.

We're using the theme "RedSilver3" which is based on prosilver, so most prosilver mods should work on it. Please make a backup of the www directory before you start, though, etc.
