I was hoping my intro would pry you out from under that lily pad! Gonna be tryin' KSS Basque-style tongue recipe this weekend. If it doesn't meet my high standards I'll throw the remainder into the chili. BTW, I prefer 'chili' when referrring to the food of the gods; where the hell does 'chile' come into the picture? :o

Right now I fear chili is spelled "chilly"...currently in chilly Philly trying to work my way home to an even chillier Texas...I took a very long route getting here, who knew Jamestown, NY had an airport? Who knew Bradford, PA. had one also?...I do now...Who knew that hybrid Toyotas do really, really, well it snow! Had to drive to Pittsburg to get a flight...I could go on for days...boy did I pick the wrong week to come to PA... Next week ...Indiana.

Usually, I woud retort by citing our current -41C with the wind chill complaint but we haven't had snow for a week so it really isn't that bad - seriously. We NEVER get what they are getting; we don't get that much snow in years combined. Truly, I cannot imagine operating in a city with that much snow. I would recommed, however, that if you are driving, to make sure you do what we do - take plenty of Bailey's for the coffee! :o

I do know how to spell chili, and checked it, but Kenji's recipe was spelled "chile," so I went with that. FWIW, there is a suburb of Rochester called Chili and it is pronounced - brace yourselves - "Chy-Lie." Seriously.

THAT IS WONDERFUL! I am going to use that this summer when I stage a feast of chili, ribs, pulled pork, and short ribs. THANKS! Oh yeah, and a sampling of cornbreads - drool...

Yep, Chili is none too far from Lima, pronounced Lye-ma.

Ditto Fitzie; we have one too; also, if you are from KY, it's called louaville; if you're from the city, it's called Louie ville. I'll stop there, don't really need to add fuel. :ugeek:

I'm hesitant to bring this conversation back to the originating issues BUT - - - when I logged on this morning there were about 12-15 new post threads showing. That was too many as I had to workout so I logged off. I came back 45 minutes later, login and there are only two threads. WHAT HAPPENED? I never opened any of the first group. Usually, that ain't how it works. :?:

I don't know about the threads, but I'd like info on your sampling of cornbreads... :)
