Darcie - coffee first, THEN write :!:
With 3 of us in a large 2 storey plus basement, storage is not the issue, it is memory of where did I put the damn thing  Rummaging to find 'it' requires taking a sandwich in case I don't find my way back too soon... :D

I like the things I only use once in a blue moon. I have a long list of gizmos that I rarely use but I like them and they work well. If something doesn't work I toss it. I hardly ever make waffles but I made those smoked salmon waffles last week and was very happy to have that waffle iron.

I do have a Pampered Chef thing that I bought a million years ago that I have never used. They are called Val(topia or something like that) Bread Tubes. They are for quick breads and a are a tube that opens on both ends. I have 2, one is heart shaped and the other is another shape I can't even remember. Then you could have little heart shaped slices of say pumpkin bread or perhaps a banana bread in the shape of that other thing. I seriously have had these things in the original boxes for the past 15 years or so. I still feel I would like to to have a quick bread in the shape of a heart (or that other thing) and so I will keep them.

My point is that, while I may not use those things, I like the possibility of using them. Now if you could give me the name of a good strawberry huller...

While I generally don't believe in one-utility kitchen tools, there are always exceptions, e.g., cherry pitters are worth their weight in cherries.

Amy

P.S. I have a Vitamix and a food processor. I completely disagree with the comment in the article that they're basically redundant.
