EB...I just got it and haven't used it yet. It is out of the box and washed and ready, but this being a holiday weekend, I am eating out, so nothing yet. The demo lady at Costco made me a great fruit drink, then peeled an organge and put it in with some carrot, cabbage, a little 1/2 and 1/2 and a drop of vanilla. She then added ice and cranked it and I had a lovely sorbet (tasted really like desert but was full of veggies). Since a lot of my cooking is "for one", I'm looking forward to being able to throw in some veggies and a little stock and have a nice bowl of soup or sauce whenever....
It came with a great cookbook, which I just scanned, but the soups and sauces looked wonderful.

Ilene,

I'd hold onto your ice cream maker. I've tried ice cream in the VitaMix, and frankly didn't like the results. Some machines are just not terrific at "off label" uses.

Thanks Amy for the suggestion. I planned to test it and figured I would probably keep the ice cream maker.
