Well,
At least you've oiled yours. It's the only sacred thing in my kitchen; I'm even concerned that it sits on the counter above the new dishwasher, which, seems to dry better if you crack the door when the dry cycle is on. Keep running my hand under the lip to see if it's warping.

Phone Orders to the Boos Butcher Block Outlet

Yes, it is possible to purchase by phone and arrange shipping. They have most of the cutting boards, some of the work tables, and some 24" chopping blocks. They also have some treasures like White House Tables and one Metro Oasis Table.

To purchase, verify the potential purchase including the weight and size of the item being purchased. Then you phone, Scott McMahon at the Budget Truck Rental/Handle With Care Packaging Store, ph. 217 342-6944, fax 217 342-6944. (Scott also sells some really good bbq on site.)

The Packaging Store will give you a price to pick up your order, package and ship via UPS. If you want a chopping block or table, they will give you a price for pick-up, strapping to a pallet and freighting to your door.

Following this, call the Boos Outlet, Norbert Bruce, Manager at 217 347-7790, Fax 217 347-775 or email to norbert@johnboos.com. They accept VISA card payment.

Tim

ps: I'll be in Effingham until tomorrow pm. I'd be happy to scout out specifics. Most items are about 45% lower than retail.

Bumping for an update:

I've had my Boos board for about 5 years now and I am a terrible person :o
I don't maintain it ever :!:

So, what does 5 years of daily use and washings look like :?:

Truly an amazing product :!: :!: I can easily live with this, especially when I keep in mind the warped plastic and split bamboo ones that have left Billville long ago. :D ;)

Another bumb - product test results!

Three years and 5 months from the last update and it finally gets an oil rub! Looks like it doesn't like my new, extra sharp bread knife. It's only a flesh wound...
