So, here's the grill:

Not that big compared to what some of you have, I'm sure, but it's a 4-burner grill and I had to dial it back because it got way too hot for the haloumi.

Looks like a pretty nice grill; wish mine was that clean!

Linda:

That's after an hour of rust removal.

Very nice; the grates look to be in excellent condition!

Wino,

Heh. They were completely covered in rust. That was after a serious de-rusting, and I'm pretty sure they'll be rusty again in no time. Planning on ordering replacements. Fortunately, for the commercial line you can get a replacement "kit" including all of the parts that tend to wear out (grates, burners, shields, crossovers) for $85.

Sounds like a good deal. I replaced my Weber Genesis grates with enameled cast iron ones last year and it was around $150 CDN. I like them much better than the stainless ones it came with though. (My Weber is 8 years old and that's the only thing I have replaced so far other than the spark thing in the ignition).

Fuzzy, Nice grill! I bet you will get lots of use out of it. Looks practically new. Besides elbow grease, what did you use to remove the rust?

I just used a brass brush and some rags. If I were planning to keep the grates, I'd do the whole naval jelly treatment.
