Hi all,

I'm in the process of equipping a cottage that we recently bought, that we will use as a seasonal rental. What do you rec'd for a 12" frying pan/skillet that's not too expensive (preferably under $75?). I have a cast iron skillet but don't want to risk damaging it. I'd like the pan to be oven safe - it'll be used on a gas stove.

Thanks!

Gerard

Find a restaurant supply store and buy a few of the pans there. Get one non-stick and one straight aluminum. They are fairly cheap, hold up to abuse and work well. And if they get damaged you don't have to grieve for them.

Almost under $75 ...

But a fantastic pan. Takes seasoning great, largely indestructible, make in a country with good labour laws. There are cheap imitators too.

Gerard,

Not sure if they have Costco where you are, but their house brand non-stick fry pans are surprisingly good. Otherwise ... look for a sale at Macy's, I've gotten Caphalon One for $30.

Great ideas. Thanks so much for recommendations - sounds like it should be relatively easy to come up with something that works!
