HUGE THANKS :) to Mary for bringing the Gaggenau to my attention about a year ago - I was smitten.

Subsequently, due to a leaky shower door, we renovated the entire home (it's a long story) but I wanted to share the kitchen (of course). It's taking awhile to master induction and it REALLY hurt to get rid of my gas range and cookware but...

Wino,

What's the round thing? Having trouble making visual sense of it.

Wow that's gorgeous, Bill. Sorry about your renovating troubles but that kitchen might be worth it (easy for me to say, right? ;)

Enjoy it!

Fuzzy - I think it's a table with a chair tucked in.

Wino - gorgeous. Now make that caramel icecream and take an "after" for us. ;-)

Sorry about the ambiguity, that was a quick grab shot with my iPhone. I'll do a more formal series whenever the dust is gone  :(

The 'round' thingy is a table for 4 built into the end of the island - - - still waiting for the real chairs  but there is one temporary chair showing.

Most of the appliances are built into the gray cabinets along the wall behind the cooking station. I'll show the other walls later so that it all makes more sense.

Should be finished by Dec. 15..............................

I like the sleek euro look of your cabinets. Details?

The kitchen cabinetry is a wonderful success story for a family-run business out of Saskatoon that now ships to many countries: REDL http://redlkitchens.com/kitchens

We chose a very unusual surface called "pillow top" as the edges are soft looking, as though a flat surface was slightly inflated. The company makes a strong effort to be ultra green from the workshop, to materials to packaging and recycling of all used materials; always a work in progress. The surface is akin to glossy automobile paint - very durable.

Jean - It took me awhile to remember the 'disaster' of the fudge ice cream   :o  I don't plan on making it again but the memories scare even me :!: :D

Wino, the overhead light is unusual. I've never seen anything like it. Looks very modern.

I've had an induction cook top 3 years & I love it. Gas wasn't a good option where I live & I was tired of electric.

Induction is still a struggle for me. I'm hoping that when the renovations are complete and the workers are gone, I can get back into my routine. I'm really looking forward to the Xmas holidays to relax and 'pump some stuff out!'

The light is relatively simple but after searching a few thousand images I knew what I didn't want; this intrigues me and our interior designer gave her blessing; after a month now we love it.

Thanks for the encouragement about induction!! ;) :)
