Wino, today is the day I unpack wine and liquor. Boxes have been stored in my basement storage unit....so the x's will be filled this afternoon.

I am looking forward to cooking and baking again...right now organizing and unpacking

Thanks for your nice compliments

Glad to hear you'll be all moved in before the snow falls.

The new kitchen is finally done and because the cooktop is induction, my MC 2 AllClad would not work. I bought a 10piece set of the shinny stainless and thought of Ctystal and Tim as I unpacked and put the set away😄😃😀

The original Masterchef was the best. There were are still better options than shiny AC.

BREAKING NEWS!

My daughter in law asked me for recommendations on cookware and I had some time in Chicago and went shopping. I found good options at a range of price points. I will use 4 Qt. saucepans to identify price points.

Zwilling 4 Qt. stainless at $95 - Yes, Henkel's makes cookware. They have redesigned their cookware to look normal and hit almost every requirement.

      Features & Benefits
      • Fully Clad 3-ply construction, induction compatible from rim-to-rim – 3mm thick. (That's thicker than All-Clad.)
      • The saucepans nest and have consistant depth-to-diameter proportions.
      • Nice thick handles Note: The 3 and 4 quart saucepans have no helper handles.
      • Nice non-drip pouring edge on all pans.
      • Interior volume marks on saucepans.
      • All pans are oven safe up to 500˚F (Tempered Glass lid oven safe up to 400˚F)
      • Yes, it's all dishwasher safe

    Here's a look: Image

There are other options at various price points. These include:

    Calphalon Tri-Ply at $130
LeCreuset Stainless at $165 or $200
Mauviel M Cook (3.6 qt. without lid) at $195
    All-Clad D5 at $265
    Williams Sonoma ThermoClad At $265

Let the debate begin...

Le Creuset 4 Qt Stainless Tri-Ply at $165 This is their old cookware with all the nice attributes. It is available from Bed Bath and Beyond online. It also looks good.

I can't help wondering when I look at that LeCreuset super-shiny finish just how well it will hold up over time. Seems like it wouldn't take long to really scratch it up.
I'd love to hear some real-life experiences.

Linda,

When I saw the new LeCreuset line, I thought it just looked too flashy...in a word, ugly. I haven't seen it in person of measured the pans.

I have owned some super-shiny Gourmet Standard for 15 years with no finish problems.
