I don't know how many timers I've been thru. A few have been pitched violently. A couple of days ago, I just watched another cusinart (#2) reset and lose its place; unforgivable in a timer. And its interfaced sucked in more ways then I can communicate. If I didn't have so many projects on my plate already, I'd just designed one (got all the hardware except a case and nice keyboard, that is the hard part...)

Replaced the cusinart with this:

Here is hoping this works out better! First trial tonight (PC cooked risotto with butternut squash (fall!) with pan roasted chicken breasts.... Wondra sprinkled on the breast really does help give a nice brown and tasty exterior) the keys were a little small, but loved the lanyard and overall functionality.

If I don't use Siri, I use one of those. We have 2.

I have a polder too. Haven't had a problem with it, except maybe forgetting when I set it to count-up mode.

My usual problem with timers is that I set them and forget to start them. No amount of new hardware is going to solve that.

I use my iphone, iPad, stove timer and microwave - another small gadget would most likely end up in a stock...

I have two of the above Polder timers too. I like them really well with one exception, mine are REALLY loud!!! I have one stuck to the side of the fridge with the magnet. The other one I set on a kitchen towel to muffle the sound somewhat. Recently I bought another timer http://www.amazon.com/TM15-Extra-Large-Digit-Timer/dp/B0000W4MYI/ref=sr_1_3?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1412255956&sr=1-3&keywords=kitchen+timer+digital. The only issue with the new one is that it has only minute and second options, no 'hours'. A minor complaint. The pluses are that its readout is really big, I can see the numbers from across the room, and it is much quieter than the Polders, also the alarm is not as loud nor as long as those.

I often set my oven timer, old (pre smart phone) habit.

Linda,

Whereas for me the loudness of the Polder is a feature. Otherwise I might not hear it from the other room with the stereo on.
