Several of you have counter top convection ovens. Which ones do you like? I love my big stove, but it really heats the place up, and I'm often baking a small amount, since I live alone. My current toaster oven is kind of small, and I'd like to replace it.

Smart Oven, as far as I can tell, is the only really good one.

I am looking for something like the smart oven without the bread warmer on top. On our small house, that is storage space!

I couldn't live without my BSO (Breville Smart Oven). I use it every single day, multiple times. It heats up so much faster than my big oven and it's just so versatile, I can cook almost anything in it! Yes, it takes up considerable real estate but it's really worth it if you can squeeze it in.

We could not live without our Breville Smart Oven. The toast is excellent and every cooking mode works much better than expected. If it were self cleaning, I'd be roasting whole chickens in the oven.

We continue to tinker with cleaning methods. Contractor's Solvent and Easy Off Fume Free Oven Cleaner are the current choices. (much less caustic that Down Power Dissolver which dissolves fingers)

You can even purchase a new crumb tray for about $20.

What Tim and Linda said. Thanks for the tip for the new tray Tim. We got a little tray with holes, not slits and use it to recrisp everything. It fits medium size baking and gratin dishes. I also use the warming function often.

I agree that the Breville Smart Oven is wonderful. I haven't used my regular oven all summer and am very pleased with the results I get with this unit. The preheat is very short, and the kitchen remains cool...just can't say enough positives about it!

Thanks! I will be looking for one of these. It just makes sense when I'm only roasting 1/2 a chicken.

Tim's tip for keeping your Breville Smart Oven clean:

If you roast chicken parts, bacon or other fatty meats, drape a sheet of parchment paper over the meat and tuck it in a bit. The meat will brown nicely and then can be turned and recovered. The parchment won't burn (451F) unless you broil.

DO I GET A FREE SUBSCRIPTION FOR MY EXCELLENT TIP????????? PLEASE!

Are all "Smart Ovens" created equal? There seems to be at least three of them.
