I have a porcelain farm sink, and while I love the look it is high maintenance to keep it from looking dingy. My next sink will be copper - without a doubt.

I know I am late to the party here, but I have been out of the country for 3.5 weeks. Please, please, do not get a black sink. We have one in a vacation home. I absolutely hate it. The water there is hard and the sink NEVER looks clean. Not matter how much I work on it, how many products I buy, it never looks good. It shows every water spot that ever landed on the surface, I ask in every plumbing supply store I see, I google for solutions, I send away for promising products, and I am always disappointed. In my home, I have a really nice stainless steel -- and that is what I always recommend to people. It doesn't always look perfect, but it can look pretty good with very little effort.

Exactly my experience. We hadn't had ours for very long when we had it removed and replaced with stainless. It was that bad.

I am deeply grateful for all of your comments. We have decided to keep our white sink, Delta is replacing the white faucet, under warranty, and I will spend these dollars on something more important. Your perspectives were truly very helpful :!: :!: :D

Fwiw, even off-black can be off-putting. Friends had a black marble kitchen. No matter what else they did to it, it constantly looked like a mortuary.
