Fuzzy,

I have been verifying my measuring cup accuracy. I have four cups that undermeasure by about 3%. The silicone two cup beaker has a scale that make it easier to get an accurate reading; it may be that the silicone minimizes the meniscus. It is also spot on for accurate measurements.

As I said before, it does not collapse when picked up but is easy to squeeze for an accurate pour.

Tim

Tim,

Sounds like this is a better grade of silicone measuring cup.

W-S is now discontinuing the Chef'n Sleekster Beaker. They are now discounted to $6 0r $7.

The continue to sell the Oxo Good Grips which do collapse when you pick them up.

I bought this gram scale: http://www.amazon.com/American-Weigh-Sc ... Gram+scale

Now nothing is too small to weigh. I love it.

Well of course I had to order this just now. So when DH asks me how in the world I'd need another scale in addition to my OXO, I'm going to say it's all Becca's fault, with Tim as a co-conspirator

I used to buy cars at police auctions in Prince George County, Maryland (just outside of DC). Once I bought a BMW that was painted flat black and that had a lab-quality gram scale in the trunk. I just can't imagine what that might have been used for... ;)

Ha! I use it mostly for soap/lotion. You have to be very precise with lye and preservative, but I love having it for cooking as well. The trick is finding a container light enough to tare.
