This gadget is great. Two completely cored pineapples in less than 2 minutes. But releasing the core from the vacu vin is a challenge. Any tips on how to easily dislodge the core without skinning my knuckles? So far I used chopsticks (they were in the dry dish rack) and they didn't work so well.

That's great. I have not made the plunge but think I will next time I see it on sale. I'm wondering if the white plastic model will last or should I just splurge on the steel.

Do you have the plastic or steel model?

Thanks

I love Vacu Vin products. I have their Twister corkscrew and it's the best I've ever owned. So easy, so effortless.

Ivy, I hand it to someone else to remove. It's a pita for sure, but you are right, the corer works like a treat. (I have the plastic one)

Fran - I have the plastic one. It was $9.99 at BBB. Works great and it's hanging in there, no signs of wear so far.

merstar - I wondered about their other products. That corkscrew would make a nice small gift. If my double hinged Pulltap's disappears, I'll check out the Vacu Vin. Thanks.

I don't remember the brand, but I have a metal one...the plastic one looks like it could break if you apply too much twist

as for removing the core, I push and twist and jimmy it until it moves far enough so I can grab it and pull (oh that sounds naughty   )
