Here's a pic of our progress of the outdoor kitchen. It will be 12x16. We are building a hip roof with red metal roofing. I have been looking at tiles for the counters and have a design in mind. It will have some seating and a bar that you can set on either side of. With any luck it will be done sometime this fall. Hubby only really has one day a week to work on it, so it will be a slow process, but it will get done.

Laurie,

So it'll be done just in time for you not to use it for 6 months? ;-)

Looks like a really good start though. You settled on tile for the counters?

I cannot wait to see progressive photos and the finished product. Congrats on getting it started.

Fuzzy, it won't get much use this year, but it will get done. We do grill steaks outdoors even in the winter so it will get a little use. Next spring....watch out!

I am going to use tile for the counter, I have looked at some, but made no selection. I have a pattern in mind for their placement.

We got the estimate on the metal roof today. Almost twice what we thought. Now I feel the need to get a quote on shingles and see what the cost difference is. If I have to cut costs that's the place I would rather do it.

Living in a wildfire state, I can say there is a major advantage to metal. If you ever experience a fire in the kitchen, it will help contain it to the outside kitchen. We have a metal roof and know it may well save our house if we ever have to deal with a wildfire, which I pray we don't.

I SO want an outdoor kitchen...envious!
