All,

Our 15-year-old Sunbeam Mixmaster leapt from the shelf to its untimely death on the pantry floor last night.

Opinions on best replacement? This gets used pretty much just for beating eggs and whipping cream. Maybe something with an S&M twist ...

I have a Cuisinart that was given to me as a gift years ago. I think it's great. Along with the 2 beaters, it came with a wire whisk attachment. The whisk gets almost all the use.

I'll second the Cuisinart recommendation. Mine is going strong after 15 years of pretty hard use. I've used friend's Kitchen Aid hand helds and they seem pretty good too.

I have a Sunbeam. It works great for light S&M duty and that's all I need it for since I have a KA for the hard work. Plus, it's cute. Still, I wouldn't recommend it for anything more onerous than stirring up peanut butter.

I have a KA 9-speed...probably overkill for what you use a handheld for, but it's a great mixer

OK, well BB&B is having a sale on the KA, so KA it is.
